  • Consistent display of cell quantity

It would be nice if OpenSpecimen could be consistent in how it displays the quantity of cells across pages.

For example in version 4.2, if I have a cell specimen with a quantity of 10,000,000 cells.

In the specimen list page it displays as “10,000,000 Cells”
In the view specimen page it displays as “10000000 Cells”
In the edit specimen page it displays as “1e+7”
In queries its displayed as “10000000.00”

Our preference would be for it to be displayed in scientific notation across pages.

    Hi @Matthew_Lyon

Thanks for the feedback. In view specimen page, it is an unintended one because of a bug in SDE.

The other 2 places are because, at present, our query module doesn’t have enough metadata to determine whether to display the numeric value in scientific notation or plain notation.

We’ll fix all these inconsistencies in v4.3. Here’s the ticket: https://openspecimen.atlassian.net/browse/OPSMN-4007

    Thanks,
    Vinayak
