  • Did you know: Configuring multiple specimen catalogs

OpenSpecimen’s “specimen catalog” a public facing portal to publish specimen data to the researchers. Using a catalog, researchers can look for specimens of interest, add it to a cart, fill a request form and submit a request. This request is forwarded to the administrator for review and processing.

The aim of SpecimenCatalog is to enable biobanks maximize their reach to the researchers and make it easy to share data.

Previously, OpenSpecimen supported only one catalog per instance of OpenSpecimen. However, since many adopters use OpenSpecimen for multiple studies, diseases, and biobanks, we received many requests to support multiple catalogs within a single instance of OpenSpecimen.

Starting from v4.2, OpenSpecimen supports creating catalogs within a collection protocol (CP) or for a group of CPs.

Each catalog gets its own URL which consists of a visually appealing dashboard and catalog.
