  • Re: [OpenSpecimen] [Technical Questions] Oracle client installation on the machine that is hosting jboss server

    Hello Diya,

Your question is not clear. What exactly are you trying to doing?

    Thanks,
    Sri

I am trying to install the application. In document it mentioned as “If you are using the ORACLE database, it is mandatory to install the Oracle client on the machine that is hosting the JBoss server. Ensure that the system variable ORACLE_HOME is set properly and the system variable PATH contains ORACLE_HOME/bin.” As of now there is no oracle client on the server where jboss is running.

    Hi @diya_any,

Oracle client is required to connect to oracle server. In a typical set up the oracle server is installed on some remote server and OpenSpecimen application deployed on some other server. So this client allows the remote computer to communicate with Oracle server.

So you need to install the it on the machine that is hosting the JBoss. Generally it comes with the server installable, otherwise you can download it from the oracle site itself.
