  • Shipment Reports to Query Association

    Dear Community,
Currently as of v3.3, ALL Shipment Reports are tied to only One Query Report.
This is set in the Settings->Common->Shipment export report.
In our work environment, we have shipments into a core lab, and shipments out of the core lab back to the researchers. The reports we want to generate for the “into Core Lab” and “Out of Core Lab”, are dramatically different.
If there was a way to optionally associate any query to any shipment, that would be great! So this is a feature request for future releases.
    Thanks,
    -peter

Hi @petermo It seems like you should be using distribution instead of shipments. You can read about the difference here: Shipping and tracking workflow in OpenSpecimen

Though, we agree that the current restriction of a single shipment report needs some solution in the future release.

We’ve built the process we are using around shipments. It’s a bit late in the game for us to change it. The labs sending us samples will be on OpenSpecimen and there isn’t a distribution protocol involved. We are shipping samples for processing to a core lab and they are shipping samples back. It’s not a distribution of samples stored in a bank. So we’ll have to find a way to make shipments work one way or the other.

I’ll talk with Peter and we’ll figure out the best method to use our batch manifest printed report from the shipment data, but this is a high priority for our site for this to work.
