  • Specific anatomic site for derived samples

    Hello,

We have configured a collection protocol in which derived samples’ anatomic sites and parent sample’s anatomic site are different. That’s beacause derived samples are specific regions of parent sample anatomic site. Ex: Parent sample anatomic región = Brain, NOS adn Derived sample anatomic región = Hippocampus.

However, when I collect all samples planned in the visit, derived samples acquiered same anatomic site as its parent sample, instead of maitain the specific anatomic site we have configured.

How can we solve this? Derived samples must always have same anatomic site as its parents or can chage?

Thanks for your help and advice.

    Hi @Ana_Purroy_Lopez,

This is a bug in OpenSpecimen, we have logged a ticket for this OPSMN-4234 and will fix this in future version of OpenSpecimen.

User can specify different anatomic sites for primary and derived specimens.

As a workarounds to edit the anatomic site:

    1. Click on ‘Edit’ button from the collected derived specimens overview page and update the anatomic site.
    2. Update the anatomic site of multiple derived specimens in bulk through
    • Bulk operation: refer to ‘Update Specimens’ for more details.
    • User interface: select specimens from the specimens list, click on ‘Actions’–>‘Edit’ and edit the anatomic site

    Thanks,
    Shraddha
