  • Specimen Result Data in OS v2.0

Can OS handle entering or uploading any result/analytic data from the specimens?

    Thanks,
    Meghan

The best option is to create custom forms and link with specimens. This will work well as long as you are not uploading huge raw data files.

Having said that, can you elaborate further what exactly you mean by result/analytic data? If you can give specific fields you want to collect, then we can help you model it properly using custom forms.

That sounds like what I’m looking for. This involves some simple things like viral loads and cell counts as well as your more complicated and bigger data files with PCR, flow cytometry and elisa data. Like you said, this would not be the raw data but the more manageable analytic files.

    Thank you,

If the raw data files are small say less then 2-5MB, you could store them in OpenSpecimen itself (via a file field in custom form). If not, you can store them in a external file server and just store a hyperlink to the folder in OS custom form. By storing the metadata of the analysis in a OS custom form, you can query for specimens based on such metadata and then download the raw data for the short listed specimens.

I would still be interested in seeing some concrete forms for such analysis since we are asked this question often.
