  • Add specimen requirements after having started

    Hi together

Actually, I’m having Troubles with adding new specimen requirements after having started to collect specimens. We have pre-defined our collection protocol accordingt to protocol Version 1.0. After some time - unfortunately - there was an amendment to protocol Version 2.0 and this also means, that there should be collected additional specimens at a specific timepoint. OpenSpecimen now Shows the ‘warning message’, that ‘specimen class or type cannot be changed once specimens are collected’

Does anyone know a Workaround to add new specimen requirements in an already existing collection protocol?

    Thanks a lot
    Daniel

The problem was not really a problem (e.g. more a bug) because

    1. I tried to Change ‘type’ and ‘class’ of existing requirements --> this is not allowed and that’s correct
    2. I tried to add new ‘requirements’ right after step 1 --> an error occured.
    3. After leaving ‘CP’ and reentering, I was able to add the new ‘requirements’

    Hi @Daniel_Lengwiler,

One workaround is to delete the existing specimen requirement and add new SRs.
About the error while adding SR after step 1, we are unable to reproduce this issue on the latest version of OpenSpecimen i.e v3.4. Can you provide screenshots for the error?

We have logged a ticket to allow SRs to be editable even after specimen collection. You can track the progress of this ticket here - OPSMN-3485

    Thanks,
    Neha

    Hi @Neha_Nimgire ,

Here you can see two Scrennshots, but for me it is O.K. if this ‘bug’ is no longer available in OS v3.4.

From my Point of view it would not be necessary to edit SR after having collected some specimens. I think it would be better not to change requirements of already collected specimens.
My only wish was, that I can add new SR after having started with collection → and this is already possible!
