    API backward compatibility after upgrade to OS v1.1

    Posting on behalf of Morris:

    a) We are using some CaTissue Client API script to load data into CaTissue. Will those need to be modified to work with the OpenSpecimen API?

    b) I am getting ready to import a few thousand sample records into my CaTissue 1.2 instance. Would it make sense to wait until after the upgrade to do that or will the data be preserved if I import it first using the old API scripts and then update the scripts (if they need any changes).

    Hi Morris,

    Either way is fine. The older client APIs are supported in OpenSpecimen-v1.1. To
    use existing APIs in OpenSpecimen, you need to make few changes in API code as
    per model changes we have done. For more details about the changes, you can
    refer here.

    Also if you upload the data before upgrade even then it
    will not be an issue, as the upgrade preserves the imported data.
