I would like to generate sequential MPIs. In Biospecimen settings, MPI Format is set to 1%05d. I would expect sequential 6 digit numbers of the form 100001, 100002, 100003, etc. However, MPIs will occasionally skip. The two most recently generated MPIs were 100155 and 100165.
Any insight would be appreciated.

i took as format “1%CP_UID(5)%”. You can also take other tokens (e.g. SYS_UID(n), system wide unique ID with n digits) related to what you need. It generates unique labels related to the collection protocol of the form 100001 and so on. But you will have a problem after the label 199999 (when you are exceeding the five digits).
EDIT: Sorry this does not work for MPI, it works for Specimen labels and things like that.
