OpenSpecimen v4.0 is scheduled to be released by end of April. Please contact us if you are interested in being part of community testing for this release.
v4.0 enhancements:
- Bulk registration and kit management: Bulk register participants, pre-print labels and manage specimen collection kits.
- Consent coding: Create standard statements to be used in protocols and verify consents before distribution
- New date functions in query: Create temporal queries with date functions like Today, Yesterday, Last_Week etc.
- Specimen centric studies: Manage specimens without linking to participant data
- Access control for distribution protocol: Managing distribution protocols can now be assigned to any user using roles and privileges. By default all administrators can create distribution protocols.
- Access control for bulk import: Restrict bulk import via CSV files to certain roles using new ‘Import’ privilege.
Plugin enhancements:
- New plugin - Gel loading: Capture DNA Gels along with image.
- Integration with automated freezers like Hamilton Bios to automatically store and pick specimens.
- Support for multiple specimen catalogs - Configure study based catalogs and publish to relevant researchers with unique URLs
- SDE enhancements: Ability to add container and specimens in one go
The release is available for testing on our test server or we can provide installer for anyone who is interested in testing locally.
