  • Capturing Parent Specimen Available Quantity

    Hello!

Our team is wondering how other centers deal with the fact that intermediate derivative quantities do not subtract from the parent quantity, thus leaving the ‘Available Quantity’ unchanged from the ‘Initial Quantity’ after collection. Are you going back to the parent specimen and editing the ‘Available Quantity’ each time, or is there a more streamlined process?

    Thanks!

    Hi @Fiona_O_Brien,

There are few options to handle this:

    1. Mark parent as closed, this can also be done automatically based on collection protocol setting. Refer to ‘Close Parent’ page for more details
    2. Bulk edit all parent specimens to change available quantity after collection from ‘Actions’ menu under any list page. Refer to the bulk edit wiki page.
    3. You can include available quantity of parent in ‘nth step’(additional step after planned specimen collection page). Refer to ‘Screen Configurations’.

If you or anyone has inputs to enhance this, we are happy to consider for future version.

    Thanks

    Hi @pgovindrao,

Thank you for the multiple options! We decided to go with option 3, adding the ‘available quantity’ field on the nth step page.

    Thanks again!
