    Change from aliquot to derivitive

Our specimen subsamples from before the v2.0 upgrade are listed as “Aliquots” rather than “Derivatives.” (which from how I now understand things) should have been derivatives) Is there a way to migrate the information from one type to the other? Currently, we are having a number of issues handling the specimen labeled as “Aliquots,” such as an inability to assign locations to pending aliquots once they have been collected. I tried to delete an aliquoted sample and create a derivative sample instead, but this lead to a problem with duplicating labels and locations.

    Hi @John,

What do you mean by the above statement? Does it mean after upgrade all derivatives got converted to aliquots?

Currently changing the lineage of the specimen is not supported. We will get back to you after considering the implication of this.

No, they were Aliquots that were incorrectly labeled as such when they were created in an older version, possibly caTissue days.

Is there a way in the database to remove the pending aliquots that were originally created?

    Hi @John_Reber,

You can delete the pending aliquots by selecting them in the visit summary and click delete from the menu as shown below.

Please note that sometimes the pending specimens shown in UI are not persisted in the DB, it is just shown for display purpose based on CP definition. In this case, you will not be able to delete.

Also, there is no bulk delete across participants right now, we will support this soon.

    Thanks,
    Poornima
