  • Collected On Date not inserting properly

I am attempting to bulk upload specimens via the Specimen Master template. This file contains both parent specimens and children aliquots. However, the system will not accept a value for “Created On” for the parent specimens. For example, I have Specimen 100000000155-000 which is a parent specimen (Lineage = New, no Parent Specimen Label, and has a virtual location). I have set the date to “02-12-2015 13:30” as specified in the Master Template, however when checking the system, the “Created On” date is set to today at the time I imported the file. This is causing issues with uploading all of the children aliquots as they cannot have a “Created On” date that is prior to the parent (the children “Created On” field is “02-12-2015 14:00”). I have ensured that the dates are in the “mm-dd-yyyy hh:mm” format. Is there an option that I may have missed in setting?

The only other information I have seen on that Confluence page is in the notes: “If visit name is not specified, all specimens within the same “collection date” will be collected under one visit.” which is fine to me, as there are no specified visits for these samples. Checking the actual data in OS, the “Visit Date” is being assigned that value. If it is also of note, the “Created On” date and the “Collection Date” values are the same for the parent specimens.

    Thanks.

    Hi @David_Kraemer,

In case of primary specimen, ‘Received Date’ is used as ‘Created On’ date. If ‘Received date’ is not specified then the current date is being used as ‘Received Date’ and ‘Created On’ date as well.

‘Created On’ column value is used for ‘Aliquot’ and ‘Derivative’.

It seems that you have not specified ‘Received Date’, so current date is being used for ‘Received Date’ and ‘Created On’ date.

For more information, you can refere Master Specimen template

    Thanks,
    Vinayak
