  • Deleting storage types

    Hello,

Is there a way to delete storage types from the user interface?

    Thanks!
    Diya

It was not possible under caTissue Plus as we ran into this issue. If this functionality is available or will soon be available in OpenSpecimen, we would also be interested at Hopkins.

Thank you Bob! we are also interested at this functionality.

This makes sense and will be done in v2.x.

Other than ensuring that storage type dropdown is not very unnecessarily long with unwanted entries, is there any other reason for why delete storage type is important?

    Thanks,
    ~Sri

We had a couple that we added at the request of a study team and it turned out that they really needed only one type for their multiple freezers. We can procedurally try to avoid that in the future, but I can see how it could happen again nonetheless. It is just a lot cleaner if we can clean it up. For us though, it might be fine to simply delete them in SQL. I have been hesitant, because I am not confident in my knowledge of all of the tables involved yet. I’d rather have the extra types (renamed so that no one uses them) than I would delete it manually and screw something up.

    Lot cleaner and less confusion.
