Did you know about the “Find Spaces” feature in Containers?

When you have multiple freezers, how do you quickly locate the one where you can store 10 boxes of a specific type? For example, if you receive ten 2-inch boxes for the collection protocol ‘LCPRP’ and want to see which freezer or rack has ten consecutive free slots.

“Find Space” is a new feature introduced in v10.3, which enables you to do this.

Note: This feature works best when you have:

    1. Used container types to create containers
    2. Used restrictions based on Collection Protocol, Specimen type, etc, defined at the container level

From Container list view → Actions → Find Spaces

You can provide criteria for the kind of boxes you will store, based on which the OpenSpecimen will look for the right freezer.
