  • Forms Import File Error

    Hello,

    I just tried using the import in the form section. I tried to upload/import a doc and an excel file, and I got an error message on both: Got an Error Importing File. Why?

    I also created a form on my OS and exported it: it exported it into an xml file. Is this the way it is set up? Are there no other options?

    Thanks

    Nadia

    1. Form import module cannot parse doc or spreadsheets. This explains why import failed.

    2. Yes, form import and export modules use XML format. We would like to hear what other options you were looking for and why?

    Thanks.

    Hello Vinayak.

    Thanks for the reply back. So let me know how does the import form functionality work, does it create the imported form and store it in OS database?

    What are the capabilities of OS forms?

    I think it would be nice to have the import form capabilities in pdf files or doc. What does the OS community think?

    Regards

    Nadia

    Hello Vinayak,

    I just use the Forms Functionality. I could export a file (xml), but couldn’t import an xml file, got a File Importing Error Message. Any tips what might be wrong?

    Thanks

    Nadia

    Hello,
    I have the same problem too and I would like to know how do I import an exported form.

    Radu

    @Nan_Halabi, @Radu_Zonda,

    Once you export the form, if that file is a zip you need to import back as a zip file. If you are importing back in the same instance of OpenSpecimen, you need to change the form name. Please follow the steps mentioned in https://openspecimen.atlassian.net/wiki/x/aQYR.

    Thanks,
    Poornima

    Hello, @Poornima_Govindrao,
    I tried to import also as zip files, but I’ve got the same error (I’ve also changed the name)

    @Radu_Zonda

    Please share the TNM.zip you are trying to import so that we can take a look.

    Thanks,
    Poornima

    The form is exported from OSv1.1 and I haven’t changed it. I’ve attached here:
    exportedForm.zip (3.6 KB)
