  • Meaning of [M] in Clinical Diagnosis terms

Posting on behalf of Jennifer Cai @ UT Southwestern:

    Poornima,

What does the [M] stand for in the clinical diagnosis field ex: [M] Adenocarcinoma, NOS?

The other option is …. (disorder), ex: Adenocarcinoma of large intestine (disorder).

    Thanks,
    Jennifer

    Hello Jennifer,

[M] stands for morphological. Clinical Diagnosis in OpenSpecimen has both morphological and disorder codes from SNOMED classification.

    Thanks,
    Poornima
