  • OpenSpecimen Feedback from UNSW

***University of New South Wales (UNSW)***, Australia is currently using OpenSpecimen 1.0.
Poornima had a meeting at UNSW to present upcoming features in v1.1 and v2.0 and below are the comments/feedback:

    Anusha:

    1. Container should be able to capture fields like owner of the freezer, how old is it, warranty, date of purchase and vendor
    2. Distribution Protocol should be optional when placing an order
    3. In Collection Protocol, there should be end date and should be able to generate reports based on what CPs are expiring in next 6 months.
    4. CP card should show number of consented but it should be calculated based on how many patients have said yes to all consents and not just based on whether consent is filled.
    5. Master Patient Index - there should be an option to auto generate MPI so that it is unique across the system
    6. Should be able to switch between card and list view
    7. The whole container map feature should be kept as it is helpful for super admin and drag/drop containers
    8. Should be able to search for container restrictions per container

    Nick:

    1. Container card: Should show percent full, container restrictions(if more than 2, just say more than 2)
    2. User card: Color or other indication to show what access user has
    3. Define view in AQ should have option to have user defined column names and it should validate if its not already used in same query. When defined, system should populate same display label for corresponding columns in another query built by user.

    Tamarind:
Should be able to query for audit information by specimen. For example what got changed in a specimen like type, pathological status etc.

    Nicki:

    1. Clinical diagnosis should display as tree and should be latest list of values, some values are missing in current list.
    2. Should be able to query for annotation data for more than one protocol. Right now can do only one per query as the top CP drop down allows to select only one CP.

    Gillian:

    1. It should be possible to lookup for patients before registration. Currently only way to do is to register but in this case if not found it will submit the registration. Cannot use query as user has access only to some protocols so if participant registered in CP to which they don’t have access to, then it will not show up in query. System should just say that the participant exists and not show any other details.
    2. Need a way to add annotation data to anticipated specimens, in OS v1.0 this feature was removed.

    Daniel:

    1. If there is freezer breakdown, there should be easy way to move racks. Showed that we already have the drag and drop feature to do it. But additionally should be able to put comments why it was moved.
    2. System should be supported on Android tablets.

    Thanks,
    Kruti
