Thanks to all who attended the OpenSpecimen Meeting this year! Your continued contributions are making the OpenSpecimen community bigger and better - working together we will build the best open source tool for biospecimen information management. As discussed during the meeting, we definitely want to continue annual face-2-face meetings so we will be polling institutions in the first quarter 2015 for potential meeting locations with a meeting date in the August - September timeframe. We only received 3 meeting evaluation forms back from the group so please fill out the forms and email 2014meet@openspecimen.org or fax to 314.747.7999. Evaluations forms can be found here (https://catissueplus.atlassian.net/wiki/display/CAT/OS14+Annual+Community+Meeting+Agenda#OS14AnnualCommunityMeetingAgenda-MeetingFeedbackForm). Please take a minute to fill it out as this is an extremely helpful tool in planning future meetings (accepted until 12/31/2014).
We would encourage all of you to attend the monthly user meetings hosted by the Krishagni team. We meet the second Wednesday of every month and you can find the call details here https://catissueplus.atlassian.net/wiki/display/CAT/Monthly+End+User+Meeting.
David Mulvihill from Washington University would like to start monthly developers/technical meetings to discuss code contributions, OS architecture, best practices etc. These will be practical meetings where show and tell will be encouraged. More information about this will be posted to the forums (please sign up!).
Notes from Matt and Divya have been posted to the OS Annual Community Meeting Agenda page - https://catissueplus.atlassian.net/wiki/display/CAT/OS14+Annual+Community+Meeting+Agenda . Please feel free to update or add to the notes.
