  • Option to hide pending specimens

One of the feedback from many adopters has been that OpenSpecimen displays the pending/anticipated specimens even after the visit is closed. This is to reduce clutter and hide specimens that anyway wont be collected.

In v3.3, we are introducing a new feature which will hide the anticipated specimens after a certain number of days. The number of days can be configured at the system settings. E.g. If set to 30 days, after 30 days of visit collection date, all pending specimens will be hidden from the users. It can be displayed if needed using a menu option.

I think being able to hide pending/anticipated specimens is a good improvement. Once pending specimens are hidden, would the user have the option to un-hide the specimens if they want? How would pending specimens be affected during upgrade from a previous version of OpenSpecimen?

Yes, there is an option to unhide the pending specimens. The pending specimens of upgraded data will also be hidden as long as they are collected before number of days where x is configurable.

    Thanks,
