    Required Data Entry Fields in v2.0

    In v1.1, red asterisks are used to indicate required data entry fields, though these do not seem to appear in v2.0. In the below screenshot, a red alert appears underneath the Visit Site entry field when the field is left blank and the Submit button is clicked, though there is no indication this field is required at the time of data entry. In v2.0, will users know which fields are required for data entry?

    On a similar note, specimen label is a required field. The below screenshot shows creation of a derivative that has automatic label generation configured, though it is still possible to manually enter a specimen label.

    1. Is there an indication in OS v2.0 that a specimen has automatic label generation configured?
    2. In v1.1, it is not possible to manually enter a specimen label when auto generation is configured, though in v2.0 it is possible and an alert is generated and the label is not saved. There might be circumstances when a user needs to override the auto generation, though it might be helpful for the user to see that a specimen label has auto generation (as in v1.1) and perhaps to indicate they would like to manually override the configuration, if needed. Perhaps other users could weigh in on whether this would be a beneficial feature.

    We are yet to implement this. There will be indication which fields are mandatory during data entry.

    v2.0 also indicates it as ‘Auto’ and does not allow manual entry of label. This is working fine on collection of protocol based specimens and aliquots but not working for adhoc derivatives. We will fix this. But you can leave it blank and submit and it will auto generate.
