SDE Plugin - Allow samples to be entered in a tabular form or separate page

A useful enhancement for the SDE plugin would be to include options to enter specimens within a tabular form (which is the current functionality) or a separate page. When you only require a small number of fields to be entered, entering specimens in a tabular form works well. But if you have a larger number of fields that need to be entered, then it would be more user friendly to display a form in a separate page, much like the collect single specimen screen.

Does anyone else have any thoughts about this or would find this enhancement useful?

Are you envisioning something like a pop-out page where more detail could be entered? I have not used the SDE plugin - could you provide screenshots?
