I like that SSN has been moved from the top field in v2.0 on the participant creation screen, but I’m wondering if it could either be hidable or moved to the More Demographic Information section so that it is a bit less obvious. I know use of SSN in OS varies among institutions, but we would like to at least discourage our users form entering it into OS.
SSN field is used as a generic country specific unique ID. Australia uses medicare number, SG uses NRIC etc.
Currently to hide it totally you will need to make code changes.
One of our features in the OS v20 roadmap is to configure the screens per protocol using an XML or even a UI based screen builder. That will be implemented eventually subject to prioritization and available funding.
