Posting on behalf of Radu Zonda:

    Hello, Poornima,

We have already installed OpenSpecimen and it works fine, but we have a problem. We have to change the format of Social Security Number (SSN) box from actual format to a format that permits writing at least 13 characters, according
to personal identification number in Romania. Could you help in managing this problem?
I would also like to ask you, how can I delete a department, because I can change the name but I can’t manage to delete it.
    Thank you,

    Radu Zonda

    Hello Radu,

That is great to know you have deployed OpenSpecimen. Please note that this is not yet the final release. We will share you an updated build once all issues we have found during testing are fixed.

In order to change the format of SSN and put restriction, there will be code changes required. There is no configuration that you can do currently to support your requirement.

Deleting department, institution, Cancer research group is not something that we support currently but plan to do in the next release of OpenSpecimen. Currently you can append “_Obsolete” to the name.

    Thanks,
    Poornima

    Hello, Poornima,

    Thank you for your help.
Unfortunately, now I have another problem:
I have deleted some participants and now I would like to add them back, but the system doesn’t accept them because it says the SSN already exist.

    Radu

    Hello Radu,

Before deleting any data, you have to make sure to rename the unique attributes like label/name/SSN to something else. Now that you have already deleted it, go to catissue_participant table and look for activity_status=‘Disabled’ records. Update the SSN field to some invalid value so that you can reuse the SSN for the new participants you will register.

    Thanks,
    Poornima

    Thank you. Problem solved.
