    Unregister and re-register a participant from a collection protocol

    I need help to un-register and re-register a participant from a collection protocol.

    We need to remove the registered participants from a collection protocol and re-register it again. Is there anyway to do it from the website? Current version is catissueplus 3.2.

    I deleted the participant, but it won’t allow me to re-register it as it is still in the database.

    The reason we need to un-register and re-register a participant is that the collection protocol was changed serveral days ago, but there is an error with it and need to be modified again. But after the last change, there are participants registered and therefore these participant should be removed and re-registered so the new modifications will applied.

    You will get an error if you enter participant with the same PPID OR same {MRN, site}. Before disabling you could have edited them to either remove them OR add a “disabled-” prefix to it.

    Now that you have already disabled the participants, there is no way to fix this via the user interface. You will need to fix it directly in the database using SQLs to update the PPID / MRNs to have some prefix.

    Once you do that, you can re-register the participants with same details.

    In the future what you might want to do is to not Disable the Participant but disable the registration to the incorrect CP. The problem is the participant is registered to the incorrect CP so you do not want to remove the participant from the database you just want to remove the CP registration from the participant. This can be done by clicking EDIT on the participant dashboard. Then in the registration details select disable (patient must not have any specimens collected), then submit. Now go to the correct CP, click register new participant and enter the participants details again and click submit. The participant matching will now display the participant. Click the radio button for the participant and then click submit.
