Upcoming features in v6.1 - ‘Contacts’ and ‘Archive’ users

Contacts: From v6.1, you can create users as ‘Contacts’ if you want those users to be listed in dropdowns like PI, collector(e.g surgeons, nurses), requestor(e.g. researchers) etc. but not give access to OpenSpecimen. Contact users will not receive any email notifications from OpenSpecimen.

Archive Users: From v6.1, you will be able to ‘Archive’ a user instead of deleting the account. This is useful to remove unwanted users e.g. when someone leaves the organization. This way, older data associated with archived users is not lost even though access to the application is removed.

We would like an Admin user to have the ability to choose user type of contact or regular user. Our Admins create users so they can choose them as the PI at the protocol level and we’d like to make them contacts as the majority of PI’s do not access the system. Right now, only a SA can choose the type of contact.
