  • Users Roles Table/ Scientist Role?

    Hi,

I wanted to check and see which table stores the users’ roles, was not sure which one is it?

I went according to your instructions about the roles in this link: https://catissueplus.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=17989864

It is mentioned that all users can create an order, create specimen list, create, execute and export query results. I gave a user a scientist role, when I assigned privileges the only option under the Privilege(s) section was a read denied. As a result, as l logged in as a scientist for testing, I could only create a query, without being able to see the results. All the other tests failed.

Forgot to mention that I logged in as a super Admin and granted the Scientist access to a protocol, there was no change in the result.

    How can I fix that?

    Thanks

    Nadia

    Hi Nadia,

Please make sure that the scientist is either made PI or Coordiantor of a Collection Protocol. Having done this, the scientist wouldn’t be able to view PHI data in CP Based View . He will be able to query and export data (including PHI data) of the CP to which he has access. Also by default all scientists have read only(query) access to all data excluding PHI.

Also he will be able to perform operations like creating specimen list, ordering and distributing specimens.
‘Read Denied’ privilege can be assigned if you want to specifically deny him read access to specific Collection Protocols.

    Thanks,
    Kruti

    Hello Kruti

    Thanks for your response back.

Yes I made the scientist as a Coordinator yesterday and that did not work.the only thing I could do while testing is to create a query.

Now I made the scientist the PI of a protocol and I can see the data, including PHI when I execute the query. I could also export query result. I can view the specimen list but not create it or an order. I had first to make the scientist a PI for the distribution protocol as well. Getting a None of the selected specimens are available for distribution error.

Forgot to say that I couldn’t create a list view for the scientist. so there is no My List. There are lists created by different roles: technician and supervisor, which the scientist can see but cannot order from.

    Regards

    Nadia

    Hi Nadia,

A PI/Co-ordiantor of a CP has access to PHI data within that CP through query.
In order to have access to PHI data in CP Based view, they should be additionally made Site Admin or Supervisor.

None of the selected specimens are available for distribution error.” This error occurs either if the specimens are virtually located, their available quantity is zero, or the specimen is inactive/disabled/closed.

    Thanks,
    Kruti

    Hello Kruti,

    Thanks for your message.

I will go back to the specimen and see if I can change it and re-try it
