  • Why Tissue site,Tissue side fields are available for Fluid,Molecular specimens also. Is there any reason behind it

    Hello,

I just need a clarification that Is there any purpose to keep Tissue site,Tissue side fields for Fluid,Molecular,Cell specimen types.

Is it possible to make Tissue site, Tissue side fields appear only for Tissue Specimen class and not for other specimen classes in Specimen Requirements page and Specimen Details page.

I tried using javascript but it is doing for the first time when it is loading page and after that if we make changes it is not reflecting.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hello Madhavi,

‘Tissue Side’ and ‘Tissue Site’ fields are also used for other specimens by some biobanks and is not restricted only to ‘Tissue’. The fields would be renamed to ‘Anatomic Side’ and ‘Anatomic Site’ respectively in the next OpenSpecimen version to avoid any confusion. In case you do not want to use, you can keep the value as ‘Not Specified’. To hide the fields, currently there is no configuration, you will need to do code changes for the same.

    Thanks,
    Kruti
